Cold World - v1.1


Hello! Ryan Case here, and this is a somewhat major update for Cold World. So significant, it warrants a new version of the game. v1.1 is almost identical, but has some notable changes. The biggest being... A new layout!

I've been working my way around formatting software, and I'm fairly happy with how this came out. The game looks more unique, and you can see that for yourself comparing the two versions side-by-side.



In my opinion, the game is more dense and readable. But regardless, there's one more update to the rules, which is technically in beta, but I think is worth keeping around: "Fallout". The idea is simple; whenever a player fails an action, 1d6 is added to a community pool of dice that all players can use. Then, whenever a player would like, they can use as many Fallout dice as they'd like to add to their roll. However, when those dice are used, the GM then takes them and keeps them for themselves. The GM can then use those d6 they collect to reduce a result by the players. This should provide GM's with a tool for tension; acting as a Faustian bargain for players who NEED to succeed certain rolls.
